ABOUT ABOUT

“Faces of America” is a photo gala that will be hosted in the main gallery at the Hickory Museum of Art. The show is all about how different people from all over the planet come together to make America. No building can stand alone without its pillars and the pillars of our country are made from the souls inside each person who calls themself American. Skin, socioeconomic status, education are what make us different, but the passion for our country, our home, is what makes us alike. We as Americans must act as a beacon of hope to people all around the world who suffer from injustice everyday, we must stand together and show the world that people from all over the world can come together and make a great nation.

Each image in the exhibit is a portrait of a person who is part of our country, through each image you will be able to look through their eyes and see the world which they live in, they might not drive the same car as you, live on the same street, wear the same clothes, or even speak the same languages, but they all call America home.

The event photographer Hisham Qadri is a High School senior whose goal is to show the significance of identity, and how art is important to every society. During the event itself, along with the photo exhibit, Hisham will be presenting a short talk to the guests about the topics at hand, the guests will be able to also ask Hisham questions about himself and anything related to the topics.

There will be a dessert bar and drinks such as juices, sodas and coffee (no alcohol).
